The Way in the Manger (sung to ‘Away in a Manger’)
The Way in the manger, the angel once said. The newborn named Jesus, the shepherds were led. These men gazed in awe, in where He was laid. The Way in a trough, for pure lambs to be slain.
The cloth which had wrapped Him, to keep the Way warm. The garment for priests, set apart had been worn. The Temple to serve in the place made for God, now used by the shepherds to serve this young Lord.
The angels proclaimed, “He’s the glory of God.” The Way once concealed is now on earths sod. The Way now made flesh in eternal sum. To serve and to save those, through faith to Him come.
Not only for children this strain which conveys. The Word in a trough filled that once relayed. The Word now the Way, looks down from on high, who forged the way open to live with Him nigh.
