Inadequacy is Compulsory

Good morning to all

Yesterday I mentioned that I would be praying that the Lord would give each one of us the opportunity to testify of His great grace and mercy to someone who needs Christ as their Lord and Savior. I am praying for you. Also I want to remind you that it was recommended that you each have a prayer partner that will also be faithful in asking God to strengthen each one of you in His Gospel Mission. (Evangelizing the Lost). We need each other! In exhortation, admonishing, encouragement and courage in proclaims the Good News of Jesus.

“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.”
Philippians 1:12-14 NIV

Summary of session 1:

Inadequacy is Compulsory – Reread: 1Corinthians 2:1-5

Be encouraged! Paul felt all of the challenges we face in sharing Christ. He was not brimming with self confidence. Yet he did so depending only on the power of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Our motivation? God rejoices when the lost have been found.

Our model? As Jesus was sent by the Father so too we are sent. He became weak, He became human like us. He demonstrated true dependence on God the Father.

Our means? God’s Spirit remaining, that is dwelling in us. You can do this! Not in your strength but Christ who lives in you.

Remember. It’s not your cleverness but willingness.

Rejoice. God’s presence in you gives access to His power

Request. Call on God for strength and pray for your Gospel Mission Partner.

Praying today that God would embolden you with confidence to share the hope that resides within you.

Striving Together for the Sake of the Gospel,

Pastor Rob
